Why Itacaré, Brazil Is Inspiring a Different Way of Living

Some places change your perspective the moment you arrive.

Itacaré is one of them.

Located along Brazil’s northeastern coast a few hours south of Salvador, Itacaré is known for its surf culture, lush tropical landscape, and slower pace of life. It’s the kind of place where mornings start with ocean air, palm trees, and a walk to the beach instead of traffic and noise.

Recently, we partnered with Praiana Productions to capture some of our latest Blue Ocean Life imagery there — and the environment immediately stood out as part of the story.

Not just visually.
Mentally.

A Different Environment Changes Everything

Before launching Praiana, founder Sophia was living in London working a traditional 9–5.

She wanted something different:

A life built around creativity, freedom, and the ocean.

So she made the move to Brazil and built a production company focused on lifestyle and beachwear brands.

Today, she works across some of Brazil’s most beautiful coastal destinations, creating content in places that naturally inspire a slower, more intentional way of living.

And honestly, you can feel that energy in the work.

There’s something powerful about building your life in an environment that supports your creativity and well-being instead of draining it.

Where We Shot the Campaign

The photos for this shoot were taken at Praia da Concha — one of Itacaré’s most iconic beaches.

The area blends tropical scenery with a relaxed surf-town atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for:

  • Remote workers seeking a calmer pace
  • Creatives looking for inspiration
  • Travelers who want nature, beaches, and culture together
  • Anyone trying to disconnect from hustle culture for a while

Unlike larger tourist-heavy destinations, Itacaré still feels connected to nature and community.

That balance is a big part of what makes it special.

Other Coastal Destinations in Bahia Worth Exploring

Bahia is filled with incredible coastal towns and islands, each offering something unique.

A few Sofia recommends:

Salvador

A vibrant coastal city filled with history, music, food, and colorful architecture.

Boipeba

Known for crystal-clear water, quiet beaches, and a more untouched atmosphere.

Morro de São Paulo

A lively island destination with beaches, nightlife, and boat access only.

Barra Grande

A peaceful beach town popular among surfers, travelers, and remote workers.

More Than a Photoshoot

This project wasn’t just about capturing new product imagery.

It was about capturing a feeling.

The idea that your environment shapes your mindset.
That where you spend your time matters.
And that maybe success doesn’t have to look the way we’ve been taught.

That’s something we believe deeply at Blue Ocean Life.

Not just creating clothing —
but encouraging people to build a life that feels aligned with who they are.
